What is Anonygo?

Anonygo is a mobile application that allows our users to anonymously express themselves via photograph and accompanying text about anything at all.

Where can I get Anonygo?

Anonygo is currently available on the iPhone App store and available for IOS only. Android coming soon.

How is Anonygo anonymous?

We don’t require you to divulge any of your personal information to use Anonygo. All you need to do is download the App, enable location services on your Iphone and off you go, free to Anonygo.

Can anyone see what I post?

Yes, anyone can see the posts that you submit, however, only people in your designated geographical area will be able to rate your post. Therefore, if you submit a post in your neighborhood, someone in another area will not have an effect on the rating of your post, only those in your area can affect the rating. We created our feeds this way, so that users will be able to see what is important to the people that are posting in the community in which they post.

What does Promote/Demote mean and why can I only Promote/Demote on certain posts?

At Anonygo, we have a geo-based community moderation system . Our Promote/Demote function allows our users to rate a post up or down. The more promotes a post gets, the higher its score, which will raise its level in the "Trending" feeds. If a post received -50 points, it will disappear from all feeds. Anyone can view any posts, of course, however, in order to promote or demote a post, you must be within the desginated proximity from where the post was submitted. This means that, if you are in a certain neighborhood, and you are viewing the Anonygo local feed in that area, you may promote or demote a post. Once you leave that area, you will no longer have the ability to effectuate the posts' rating and you will no longer see the Promote/Demote button on the post in the feed.

What if anything does Anonygo do to prevent bullying?

Anonygo finds any kind of bullying behavior unacceptable. First, our Terms of Use have a specific Community Use Policy that prohibits users to post names of private individuals at all. In addition, Anonygo was designed to do as much as possible to prevent unauthorized behavior via our geo-based post system, our Flag system and our post/demote system. If someone sees a post in their community that has any inappropriate message in it, the user can immediately flag the post. This action removes the post from the users feed, and sends an alert to Anonygo. If another user flags the post, the post will be deleted from the feed automatically. However, if Anonygo deems the post inappropriate and in violation of our Terms of Use, Anonygo will permanently remove the post from the feeds. If a post contains a private individual’s name, it can be flagged and it will be removed from the feed.

Can anyone see the posts I share?

Yes, anyone can see the posts that you submit, however, only people in your designated geographical area will be able to rate your post. Therefore, if you submit a post in your neighborhood, someone in another area will not have an effect on the rating of your post, only those in your area can affect the rating. We created our feeds this way, so that users will be able to see what is important to the people that are posting in the community in which they post.

Can I export posts I see to my Facebook or Twitter page?

Yes, you can export any posts from Anonygo to your various social networks through our export button. You can also email any posts off our feeds to anyone you want.

Can I post photographs from other sources and/or my existing photographs on my phone?

No. We require our users to post photographs taken directly from the Application. This way, the geographical based system ensures that photographs and posts are taken from the location that is reflected on the post itself. We do this to provide another layer of authentication and for the integrity of the feeds.

Do I have to be anonymous on Anonygo?

Anonygo does not require that you remain anonymous on our App, however, it is the purpose of Anonygo that our users be able to express themselves feely and without inhibition. Therefore, if a user wishes to post a photograph that divulges his/herself, by all means do so, if that doesn’t hinder his/her ability to express himself freely, authentically and with no reservations. We have no user names or inter-app messaging. We want our users to know they can post with absolute freedom, and let the community rating system take its course.
